    Full Day with Ladylyn

Here’s a concept most brides are not familiar with: Full Day Service. What does it mean? Why do you need it? Who is this service for? Let me begin by saying a full day service is not for every bride. Some brides simple want their hair done before the ceremony and THAT IS IT. They are fearless of wind, rain, and heat. They don’t understand the commitment for a bridal party where they are the main act, ALL DAY. They don’t realize they will be photographed ALL DAY and everyone expects them to look amazing the whole time. And these brides are the…

What an exciting start to 2016!! The Elegant Wedding magazine just came out with their 2016 Winter/Spring issue, and I got the amazing opportunity to do the hair for the cover, and a few pages in the magazine. That’s right. I did the cover!! I spent the day with Anthony Patrick Manieri Photography and Dawna Boot Makeup at the Omni King Hotel in Downtown Toronto. They let us use the Crystal Ballroom before they renovated it. So it was very dusty and old looking. We had to put painters tarp down all over the floor so the model can walk…

    Hair Prep Instructions

Photos Please gather the photos that each person wants, as well as a selfie of each girl with their natural hair, and add them to a shared album. The best thing to do is to add them to the shared album we created, for your trial photos. Or you can simply email them to me. Make sure each picture has the persons name on it. Featured in Elegant Wedding Magazine & Blog

Good things happen to those who give. I am super excited to get a feature in the Winter/Spring 2018 issue of Elegant Wedding Magazine that hit news stands a few weeks ago. The situation was that the Bride…

Whitney Heard planned the whole trip, which made sense because she had been there so many times before. My best friend Claire came with us too as an extra set of hands. The first shoot location was Chateau…

    BUT I WANNA SLEEP IN

I hear too often, Brides and bridesmaids want to start after 7am. Because they don’t want to get up too early or they want to be able to have a relaxing morning. But here is the truth: You won’t be sleeping much on the night before the wedding, and your start time is highly reflective of the time you need to be ready, and the number of ladies who the artist need to go hair and makeup on.   Determine ready time How much time per service How many hair/makeup services How many artist   The very first thing you…

    Determining Your Ready Time!

The time you want to be ready for your event is called your ready time. Determining your start time is a different story. Click here to read about it. Specifically for weddings, as a rule of thumb, your ready time is 2 hours before your ceremony. The 2 hours are allotted for “getting ready” photos, getting dressed, loading the car and driving to your ceremony. Now here are a few variants to this…

    Practicing my Toe Edge

I’m new to snowboarding. I was introduced to this wonderful winter sport back in 2014. My boyfriend helped me pick out all the right gear. He said there was no point in buying old or used stuff because it will ruin my first experience and he thought this was something I would really love. Well, he was right. This season, I haven’t been to Blue Mountain at all. It has been waaaayyy tooooo cold! And as a novice, I’m still trying to figure out how I like to layer. So I looked into a few articles on the subject…
